HOW IT WORKS: Our 2 Step 2 Minute process if fast and easy:
Low income residents of North Carolina can find health care services through the state’s Medicaid program. Medicaid provides a variety of preventative, medical treatment and long-term care services for low income parents, children, seniors and people with disabilities. Funding for this public health insurance program comes from the state and also the Federal Government.
Eligibility depends on your income level, other assets and additional criteria. Those who qualify for North Carolina Medicaid can take advantage of health care services ranging from family planning and necessary medical services for children under 21 to doctor visits and services, limited vision services, limited dental services, hospital inpatient or outpatient care for a limited number of days, in-home or nursing home care, mental health care service and prescription drugs.
You may be asked to make a copayment for some services, but you may also be eligible to skip that payment. Some services also require prior approval.
You’ll find answers to all your questions about coverage, eligibility guidelines and how to apply by checking out the North Carolina Medicaid info on the Department of Health and Human Services web pages.
